A beacon of healthcare and community service, Dr. Timmanna T. Hegde was a distinguished general practitioner in Kumta. A 1960 alumnus of Mumbai’s prestigious Grant Medical College & J.J. Hospital, he served the region for 58 years across medicine, surgery, and obstetrics.
Driven by a spirit of philanthropy rather than profit, he provided highly affordable care, becoming a beloved figure among the rural folk. Dr. Hegde was also a progressive farmer and a community leader, serving as the Chairman of the Kumta APMC and supporting numerous cultural and farmers' associations. His legacy lives on in the hearts of the community as a model of selfless dedication.
